Circa £50,000 - £55,000 p.a. (depending on experience)

As a Data Scientist, you will develop and maintain machine learning (statistical learning models) for the data UMi holds, to assist the company in delivering its services to help businesses go further in a more automated, intuitive and productive manner.

Working with our development and infrastructure teams, you will lead on the development and maintenance of machine learning models. Underpinning all of the responsibilities of the role is providing support and assistance across the Technology, Innovation and Investment Team and wider company, with an expectation of flexibility in undertaking responsibilities in keeping with the needs of the company.

A few key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Research and develop statistical learning models for data analysis
  • Maintain data science tools and relevant infrastructure
  • Integrating with MS Dynamics 365 and MS Azure to ensure that the data is accessible, useable and analysable
  • Systems integration to ensure data flows where necessary between business systems, making use of third party connectors and bespoke code where required.
  • Support the development of bespoke content management systems
  • Supporting the Chief Technology & Investment Officer in developing the company business systems and technology strategy to maintain the business’s position as a market leader

Salary: Circa £25,000 p.a.

We are looking for a social networking-savvy individual who just loves reaching out and connecting with people to find and provide them with the very best source of information, expertise and finance.

As a Relationship and Engagement Manager you will develop and harness a diverse network of entrepreneurs and business owners both online and offline.

You will be responsible for tracking and responding in real time to all interactions on UMi’s digital platforms, manage the production and host online and offline events. You will also actively contribute to discussions on third-party social networking platforms and develop direct relationships with other community/network managers and contributors across the business community.

You must have experience in developing meaningful interactions with individuals across all digital media platforms and face to face, along with experience hosting and editing podcasts and webinars, implementing social networking campaign for specific groups and knowledge of website content management systems and email marketing.

Salary: Circa £20,000 p.a.
Working Hours:
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

We are looking for an individual with excellent commercial sense, an interest in business and finance and confidence when handling numerical data to join our Finance Team as an Accounting Technician.

Some of the key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Accounting skills which enable balance sheet maintenance and suggest treatment where applicable
  • Bank and cash reconciliations and reports to the Financial Operations Manager
  • Raise sales invoices and review credit control procedures within the finance team
  • Accruals and prepayments, maintaining transactions within the accounts from the point of inception
  • Project accounting support, with items such as costing reports, accounting analysis under the guidance of the Financial Operations Manager
  • Review and suggest enhancements to team transactional processes and procedures

We require an individual who holds an AAT qualification or equivalent qualification, who has good IT skills including use of the Microsoft package and experience in financial software, preferably Xero.
