This is an excellent opportunity to join an enterprising business who offer support and information services to its customers.  Working as Customer Service Adviser you handle calls from customers with general business enquiries.

Responsibilities:

  • You will communicate with customers via telephone, email and social media
  • Through your strong relationship building skills and effective questioning, you will assess, diagnose and recommend the right avenue of support for customer
  • You will direct customers through the right avenue of support which could be through a number of channels that include a more in-depth telephone appointment with a Tier 2 Adviser or referrals to various Growth Hubs
  • You will effectively collect customer data in line with the contract standards to ensure accurate, timely and relevant information is gathered
  • Effective diary management and booking of appointments for Business Support Advisers, making appropriate arrangements and preparations, including accurate handover notes, to enhance the customer experience

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable track record of delivering excellent customer service
  • Excellent communications both written and verbal
  • High level of analytical ability to assess customer needs, information and documentation
  • Strong IT skills
  • Ability to organise own workload

As a Data Scientist, you will develop and maintain machine learning (statistical learning models) for the data UMi holds, to assist the company in delivering its services to help businesses go further in a more automated, intuitive and productive manner.

Working with our development and infrastructure teams, you will lead on the development and maintenance of machine learning models. Underpinning all of the responsibilities of the role is providing support and assistance across the Technology, Innovation and Investment Team and wider company, with an expectation of flexibility in undertaking responsibilities in keeping with the needs of the company.

A few key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Research and develop statistical learning models for data analysis
  • Maintain data science tools and relevant infrastructure
  • Integrating with MS Dynamics 365 and MS Azure to ensure that the data is accessible, useable and analysable
  • Systems integration to ensure data flows where necessary between business systems, making use of third party connectors and bespoke code where required.
  • Support the development of bespoke content management systems
  • Supporting the Chief Technology & Investment Officer in developing the company business systems and technology strategy to maintain the business’s position as a market leader

  • Help recruit and maintain a pool of Digital Champions who will support the programme through mentoring
  • Undertake digital audits on small to medium businesses, including a review of their current digital channels
  • Provide assistance to support 12-hour assists for each business on the programme, ensuring appropriate documentation is in place to underpin and evidence delivery that is compliant with ERDF requirements

Here at UMi we are looking for an innovative individual who just loves working with businesses to find the very best source of information, expertise and finance.

As the Marketing and Events Manager you will plan, manage, coordinate, market and deliver a range of events, master classes, conferences, webinars and activities that will assist eligible businesses within the Leeds City Region to go further by upskilling their knowledge in digital technology solutions.

A few key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Having accountability for event, marketing and communication planning and delivery for the programme
  • Delivering a series of events, conferences, masterclasses and workshops that deliver innovative and engaging content to businesses on how to increase their knowledge, understanding and adoption of digital technologies to improve their business
  • Working with preferred suppliers to plan and manage delivery of events to exceed customer expectations
  • Being responsible for all aspects of live event delivery including venue, AV, speaker/trainer liaison, communications, catering, signage, technical support etc
  • Managing the customer experience including measuring effective customer satisfaction levels and impact of the programme
  • Being compliant with ERDF and programme requirements

As a Developer, you will work alongside our infrastructure and data science teams to develop, maintain and improve the various layers of our web services and applications which will help our clients go further.

A few key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Development of services using MS Dynamics 365 and O365 platform in line with the Technology team’s agile development process
    (Therefore, experience in Dynamics 364 configuration and using O365 applications specifically, SharePoint, PowerApps, Flow for business and Power BI use is essential)
  • Systems integration to ensure data flows where necessary between business systems
  • Maintain relevant code integrity and organisation
  • Maintain quality and ensure responsiveness of applications
  • Building and connecting APIs to extend the features of the platform
  • Support for all company systems within KPIs defined in the Technology team’s customer care process
  • Develop business information dashboards and reporting based on customer requirements to enable effective use of business intelligence

Digital Media Apprentice
Salary: £10,000 p.a. (depending on experience)
Location: Spectrum 6, Spectrum Business Park, Seaham, County Durham, SR7 7TT

Fixed-term employment for the duration of the Apprenticeship.

Are you a sociable team player who loves to create new and exciting content and a whizz at managing digital media platforms?

We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Digital Media Apprentice to become part of our very talented content and marketing team. You will actively contribute to the successful planning and delivery of UMi branded campaigns, alongside providing a high quality service to our customers and partners.

The apprenticeship will last approximately 15 months and you will work and study towards gaining a Level 3 Standard in Digital Marketing during this time.

Some of your main responsibilities will include:

  • Actively getting involved in the delivery of the UMi news service and its daily bulletin, including helping to manage press releases from external agencies, drafting new stories, uploading content and creating visuals
  • Provide support to a range of in house and external digital media campaigns
  • Update our database of contacts, from individuals working in media to business owners who have taken part in UMi events and services
  • Update UMi’s digital platforms from our corporate website to our dedicated social media channels, YouTube account, Google Maps listing and more
  • Compile additional written notes and summaries of our series of webinars, podcast episodes, video Q&As and interviews
  • Help develop and promote our content using digital media tactics, search engine optimisation, email marketing and online advertising
  • Measure and report on performance of digital campaigns and general views using Google Analytics, Search Console and other online tracking tools
  • Provide administrative support to the Content and Marketing team, from diary management to drafting campaign reports, compiling minutes of meeting, collating feedback from events, organising photos and video files etc.
