Campaign encourages businesses to consider exporting opportunities
Hull and East Yorkshire businesses are being encouraged to consider exporting opportunities as part of Humber Business Week 2021. The HEY Export! campaign features a variety of case study videos and an event on 9 June.
The event will be hosted by Hull and East Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (HEY LEP) and the Business Growth Hub. It will showcase the region's benefits for inward investors and why it's a great area for businesses to invest in, grow and export. Featuring an opening address from James Newman OBE, HEY LEP Chair, the event will continue with presentations and a panel discussion with Antonio Tombanane from Tech Week Humber, Chris Williams from Chatta, and Alex West from VISR.
The campaign highlights opportunities for diverse businesses – whether an SME or a larger business, and whether producing goods or offering services – there is a wealth of opportunities for the region’s businesses to reach new markets and customers by exporting.
To provide further inspiration, the campaign features video interviews with regional business figures, including Export Champion and Managing Director of Hessle-based Agencia, Helen Gibson, and Pauline Wade, Director of International Trade at Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce.
The Hull and East Yorkshire region is already home to a thriving exporting community and the HEY LEP is keen to continue to engage with businesses across all sectors, as it develops an export plan for the region.
The HEY LEP will work closely with a range of key partners and business support organisations, such as the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce and the Department for International Trade, as the export plan comes to fruition.
Andrew Finch, Export Partnerships Manager at HEY LEP, said: “Awareness and engagement are key strands of the export plan and our export case study videos help demonstrate why more businesses across the region should now consider exporting, as the UK embarks on a new chapter as an independent trading nation.”
A series of further case studies will be published over the coming weeks by a series of regional organisations including University of Hull, Boston Energy Group, and Tech Week Humber.
