Celebrating Leeds City Region’s most digitally transformational businesses
This year’s Digital Enterprise TOP 100 campaign wraps up with the release of the eagerly awaited index report, at the campaign’s virtual celebration today (30 March). The event will be attended by many of the 100 most digitally transformational, resilient and innovative businesses in the Leeds City Region.
The report is a must-read for any business leader in the region that is thinking about adopting digital technology to drive their business forward. Providing plenty of resources and inspiration, the report highlights the stories of some of the business leaders featured in the index’s ‘ten of the best’.
XR Games Founder Bobby Thandi, ShopAppy Founder Jackie Mulligan, Autohorn Fleet Services Sales Director Scott Jenkins and m2r Education Director Munir Mamujee shine a light on the incredible resilience and innovation that their teams have demonstrated and the role that digital transformation is playing as they aim to not only survive but also thrive.
As the report is officially released at the campaign’s celebration event, Bobby Thandi will also be celebrating the release of XR Games and Sony Pictures’ eagerly awaited Zombieland: Headshot Fever. This is a dream come true for the Bradford-born entrepreneur who once considered a games development career as being “like wanting to be a movie star or a footballer.”
Assisted by funding from the Digital Enterprise business support programme, Bobby’s 28-strong team has improved the company’s digital and broadband connection as well as investing in hardware and software to help with its expansion plans.
“Through the funding we’ve received to date we’ve been able to get involved in the development of some big VR and console games and there are lots more exciting projects in the pipeline. I think it’s always nice to have some external validation of what you’re doing and I think it’s very exciting that XR Games has been recognised,” Bobby said.
He will be joined in a panel discussion at the virtual celebration event by Bill Beaumont Director of Distant Future Animation Studio Ltd, Dave Tucker CEO of Sonocent, and Scott Jenkins Sales Director of Autohorn Fleet Services, owners of Flexed.
The event will be attended by many of the key business leaders featured in the index from across nine Leeds City Region local authority areas (Leeds, Kirklees, York, Harrogate, Craven, Calderdale, Bradford, Selby and Wakefield) and across a broad range of sectors.
The TOP 100 is fast becoming an exciting, engaged network, rich with opportunities to connect and collaborate. The event on Tuesday 30 March provides an opportunity to take stock and celebrate – and there is still time to register.
Digital Enterprise Programme Lead Muz Mumtaz added: “This is the second campaign we have delivered to celebrate the Top 100 most transformational businesses in the Leeds City Region and it has unearthed an even greater diversity and quality of SMEs to be proud of. They are showing the way forward for all smaller businesses to take note of and follow. Digital transformation is no longer an option, it is the key to their survival and prosperity and this campaign celebrates those that are leading the way.”
Nicki Clark Chief Executive of UMi said: “At UMi we know that running a business is both exciting and hard. This year has presented us all with new and unexpected challenges, but also opportunities to think and do things differently. The businesses profiled in our report show the combined power of digital technologies and determination to transform their offers and processes. We congratulate every one of the teams in the TOP 100 and we hope that the report will inspire many others to see how digital technologies can help their business go further.”
