Curated Makers Local Pop Up in John Lewis & Partners Trafford Centre

Curated Makers and John Lewis & Partners, have collaborated to host a four week pop-up in their Trafford Centre branch, featuring the works of over 45 independent artists and makers from across the north of England.

Situated on the first floor near the John Lewis café, The Place to Eat, this unique pop-up concession exhibits a carefully curated selection of locally made, unique handcrafted goods including artwork, jewellery, ceramics, candles, homewares and more. Picture it as a highly curated artisan market, situated within a shop environment, open 7 days a week, offering the convenience of shopping small and local, within an established department store.

With Mother’s Day fast approaching, the Made Local Pop-Up provides the perfect shopping opportunity to treat loved ones to an extra special, one-off gift, this Mother’s’ Day on Sunday 22 March 2020, the final day of the pop-up.

With opportunities for customers to ‘meet-the-maker’ within the pop-up too, different artists will take residency for one day only, offering live pet portraits, upcycled gifts and more; taking place on each Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the pop-up.

Curated Makers is the brainchild of Manchester-based entrepreneur Megan Jones, who created the brand to give small, local, independent makers a platform to showcase their products within prime retail spaces.

Megan Jones, founder and owner of Curated Makers, said: "The opportunity to have short-term access to pop-up within John Lewis in the Trafford Centre, was an aspiration when I launched the brand back in 2017. To now be able to offer this opportunity to over 45 local businesses, is a real privilege. All of the makers involved and I are thrilled to be here for the month.

If you want to support small business but the weather is against you or you struggle to find the dates of local artisan markets, then look no further as we’ll be in store seven days a week for four weeks, open the same trading hours as John Lewis. It’s definitely worth a visit."

Susie Dillon and Carla Owen, Section Managers at John Lewis & Partners Trafford, said: "Here at John Lewis and Partners Trafford, we are delighted to welcome the Curated Makers Pop-Up into the branch. It is not only a new and exciting concept that we can offer our customers, it also provides local makers in the opportunity to sell their product and get greater exposure to the community. We take great pride in being able to support our local small businesses!"

The Curated Makers Made Local Pop-Up is situated on the first floor of John Lewis & Partners, opposite their café within the Trafford Centre and runs from Monday 24 February to Sunday 22 March 2020.
