Impact Summit returns to Glasgow
Impact Summit, the UK's celebration of values-led business, returns to Glasgow on 20 May 2020 with speakers from global brands including Unilever, Ella's Kitchen and Positive Luxury among the first to be announced.
With support from The Hunter Foundation for the third consecutive year, Impact Summit has grown to become the largest ethical business event in the UK. The event will bring together over 500 people to Glasgow's SWG3 Studio Warehouse, transforming the space into an interactive hub with a diverse range of keynotes, interviews, panels and an exhibitor marketplace.
Impact Summit 2020 will focus on three core themes: climate change, tech for good and sustainable fashion, with world-leading speakers contributing to each topic. The first wave of speakers includes Jonathan Gill, Global Sustainability Director at Unilever, Mark Cuddigan, CEO of Ella's Kitchen, and Diana Verde Nieto, co-founder and CEO of Positive Luxury.
Jonathan Gill, Global Sustainability Director at Unilever, said: “Impact Summit is a place for those who believe that business can – and must – be a force for good. Together we need to build a world where business does more than deliver economic returns for shareholders; where value must be created for all stakeholders. Business at its best fulfils everyone’s potential while regenerating the planet we live on.”
Mark Cuddigan, CEO of Ella’s Kitchen, said: "Time is running out for us to hit the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We will be the first generation of leaders unable to look back and say, 'we didn't know'. The only question is: what are we going to do now? Events like Impact Summit are vital for leaders to come together and inspire each other to make the necessary change and, in turn, inspire others to follow our lead."
Zoi Kantounatou, co-founder and CFO of FutureX, added: "We are facing environmental, social and economic problems not in isolation, but as an international community. Impact Summit is an open call to innovators from all sectors to join us in reimagining and rebuilding an inclusive and exciting future. I can't wait to welcome speakers and delegates alike to Impact Summit this May to inspire this transformed society!"
