We are excited to announce that the online Festival of Enterprise will begin on Wednesday 21 October, kicking off two free half days of virtual events. As well as one-to-one and group networking and discussion opportunities, there will be four inspirational speakers who are all running their own business and are here to help you on your journey.

Teri Ellington - Ellington Timepiece

Teri is an inspiring young entrepreneur who started up her business with just £80 and a laptop after being made redundant. She is very open about her struggles over the years with mental health, she says: "Creating Ellington Timepiece allowed me to connect with people on a personal level and share my own story to help inspire those that despite having a mental illness you can still achieve your dreams." 

Stefan Thomas - Generating new leads and effective networking

Networking online has never been more important now that many of us are working from home and we need to find different ways to connect with others. Stefan, author of the bestselling book Networking for Dummies, will talk about how to find the right networking events for you and finding the right people to talk to.

Jake Newport - Finnmark Ltd 

Jake will be telling the story about how he moved to Durham and started his business with his brother Max with just a £5,000 loan. Jake says: "In these testing times, we’ve managed to pivot and increase sales of materials and accessories from our e-commerce shop, particularly to the DIY market. Our first-class installation work, eye for quality and detail, plus an insistence on working towards Finnish building standards and regulations, mean we are regularly featured in a number of influential publications such as Grand Design Magazine and The Telegraph.”

Jimmy Cregan - Jimmy's Iced Coffee

In 2010, Jimmy created Jimmy’s Iced Coffee, a range of awesome ready-to-drink iced coffees which can now be found in the best fridges across the UK and beyond. He started the business with his sister Suzie and they now lead a team of over 20 crew, have six products and counting, and do some great stuff helping the younger generation become inspired to do awesome things.
