Northern Powerhouse Export Awards

The PD Ports Northern Powerhouse Export Awards 2020 winners and shortlisted nominees have been celebrated in a special report.

Packed with inspiring winners’ profiles, insights from roundtable discussions hosted by sponsors PD Ports and HSBC UK, an interview with the Minister for Exports Graham Stuart MP, as well as resources and guidance to read, watch and listen to, the report is a must-read for any business leader in the Northern Powerhouse region considering selling their products or services internationally.

More than 40 finalists and 10 winners from around the Northern Powerhouse were celebrated at the virtual Export Awards on 3 December. Representing a diverse range of sectors, from educators and tea producers to filmmakers and manufacturers, the report details each one of their achievements.

As the winners of the Exporter of the Year and Small Exporter of the Year awards, the online publication also features a special interview with Victoria Coppack, Sales Director of DB Orthodontics.

On winning the awards, Victoria said: “We have such a strong team, and this award is for everyone involved in the business.

“It is such a hard industry to be in at the moment, especially with all the EU regulation changes. It’s hard work, but to be recognised with this award is just absolutely amazing.”

Nicki Clark, Chief Executive of UMi, said: “At UMi we know that businesses are more than bricks and mortar, or numbers on a spreadsheet. They are living, breathing things, powered by people. Every one of the businesses featured in this report has demonstrated incredible determination in adapting to the export opportunities and challenges presented by Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We congratulate every one of the winners and shortlisted nominees and we hope that the report will inspire many others to see how international trade can help their business go further.”
