THE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY LAUNCHES NEW BUSINESS PODCAST
Sunderland-based learning experience, The Leadership Academy, has launched its inaugural podcast series to offer additional support and advice for business owners.
Hosted by CEO of The Leadership Academy and DKS Straightforward, Dianne Sharp, the regular episodes welcome business leaders from various industries to discuss a range of topics from leadership and crisis management to adapting and pivoting in uncertain times.
Launching with its first instalment at the end of May, episode one welcomed Jason Wainwright, managing partner of North East commercial law firm Muckle LLP, Neil Robbins, CEO of performance marketing agency Silverbean and Peter Joynson, CEO of cloud technology specialists Synergi, to discuss how they’ve handled the impact of coronavirus so far.
Covering client experience, team relationships and opportunities for the future, amongst other issues relating to the pandemic, the episode explores how three regional businesses are continuing to operate and survive through COVID-19.
Commenting on the launch of the podcast, Dianne Sharp said: “When we first launched The Leadership Academy, we prided ourselves on being an experience created by leaders who have been there, done it and have the blood-stained shirts to prove it. That’s why this podcast series made so much sense for us to launch.
“We are still running our usual training courses but we’re at a time where businesses really need advice and direction. It’s great that we can bring in leading business figures from the region to share their own experiences.”
Set up by experienced business professional and founder of DKS Straightforward, Dianne Sharp, The Leadership Academy is a learning experience specifically designed to enhance and develop the leaders of today and tomorrow. The concept was created after Dianne recognised there was a lack of people development and businesses weren’t prioritising ‘human’ capital within their business and leadership training.
With social distancing still in force, the Leadership Academy team have been recording the podcast via Zoom and will continue to do so until the rules are relaxed.
Dianne added: “We’ve been able to adapt really quickly to working remotely and we are excited we've been able to launch the podcast in the current climate. It hasn’t been without its challenges, from connection issues to differing mic qualities, but that’s been a great learning process.
“People are also much more forgiving at the minute given we know that things are being done out of offices.”
