Chester accountancy firm Mitchell Charlesworth has helped two Cheshire entrepreneurs launch a state-of-the-art mobile pizzeria business.

Dough & Go was created by friends Mark Gibbons and Danny Mead, who came up with the idea of providing a takeaway food service for rural communities that lack restaurants or takeaways close by. Having both lived in rural areas, they found it frustrating not to be able to access these amenities easily.

Dough & Go serves traditional stone baked pizzas which are hand stretched and made to order using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and take only a couple of minutes to cook.

Despite the strict lockdown restrictions, Dough & Go is still able to operate as a takeaway business and has all the required COVID-19 safety measures in place to help protect customers and employees.

Dough & Go currently runs weekly takeaway sessions at various Cheshire locations - Saughall, Burton, Vicars Cross and Hooton, and also in Saltney and Penyffordd, Wales. There are plans underway to expand the business and add on a number of new locations.

Customers can get their pizza fix at the following locations:

  • The Greyhound Inn in Saughall every Monday between 4:30pm and 7pm
  • Vicars Cross Community Centre every Tuesday between 4:30pm and 7pm
  • Gladstone Village Hall car park in Burton every Wednesday between 4:30pm and 7pm
  • Penyffordd & Penymynydd War Memorial Institute every Thursday between 4:30pm and 7pm
  • The Saltney Ferry Pub in Saltney every Friday between 4:30pm and 7pm
  • The Cane Factory in Hooton every Saturday between 4:30pm and 7pm.

These are the current winter trading hours. Hours will be extended in the spring and some of the locations will be offering a lunchtime service.

Mark Gibbons, Director at Dough & Go, said: “We’d firstly like to thank everyone that has been involved in the business over the last 18 months. It’s not been plain sailing, but Danny and I believe that this time was well spent to get the concept right, giving us solid foundations to launch, progress and grow the business. We are currently working on exciting new locations for 2021 and will be helping to support more communities, local businesses and charities in the near future.

“Finally, we’d like to say a big thank you to the whole team at Mitchell Charlesworth. We cannot fault their service. They have been much more than our accountants. We believe having the right team behind you really can make the difference and we look forward to the future with them.”

Alex Makinson, Partner at Mitchell Charlesworth, said: “Dough & Go is a fantastic new business with a loyal customer base already in place. Mark and Danny had a strong idea of what they would like to do, and we were able to support them in setting up their business as well as be a sounding board for ideas. We look forward to helping them achieve their ambitious growth plans by continuing to provide strategic financial advice as well as general accounts, VAT and tax services.”
