WHAT WAS THE SERViCE? 

Ignite Space was a two-day national event designed to open doors to the fast-growing UK space economy. Delivered by UMi on behalf of the UK Space Agency, both in 2024 and 2025, the event was hosted at the iconic locations of the National Space Centre in Leicester and Leeds Royal Armouries. Over the two years, Ignite Space welcomed 1,624 attendees from across sectors, giving SMEs and innovators a rare opportunity to connect directly with industry leaders, investors and potential collaborators. 

WHAT DiD UMi DO? 

As delivery partner, UMi designed and managed the entire event experience - from programme planning to speaker coordination, exhibitor engagement and on-the-ground logistics. The team curated a packed agenda for each event, featuring expert speakers, exhibitors, and breakout sessions. UMi’s inclusive approach ensured businesses beyond the traditional space sector - such as those in data, AI, and engineering - could explore the sector’s potential and understand how their capabilities align with its growth. 

WHAT WAS THE RESULT? 
Ignite Space was a resounding success, with glowing feedback from delegates praising its relevance, organisation, and impact. The events not only inspired new entrants into the sector but also sparked tangible partnerships and project ideas - helping SMEs navigate a £18.9 billion industry employing over 52,000 people.
