Royal Docks Meet the Buyer
London City Airport’s CEO Robert Sinclair was delighted to welcome local businesses and SMEs to the Royal Docks Meet the Buyer, an event delivered by UMi that gives suppliers direct access to a wealth of new opportunities.
Taking place at the Newham Dockside, the free event, fully funded by partners London City Airport and Newham London, provides local businesses with the chance to meet major buyers in London’s Royal Docks, including those in the airport’s supply chain and involved in its transformative £480m development programme.
Up to 200 small businesses from Newham area attended for the opportunity to meet face to face with buyers based in, or working in, London’s Royal Docks, who are actively sourcing, issuing tenders, obtaining quotes and awarding supplier contracts.
The airport sits at the heart of the 125-hectare Royal Docks Enterprise Zone, which is expected to generate 40,000 jobs, 20,000 new homes and over £5bn of inward investment by 2037.
The airport will be joined by 25 major buyers requiring expertise in a variety of sectors including construction, engineering, facilities, marketing and IT services, including Crowne Plaza Hotel, Ecoworld London Development Company, Frencon Construction, Good Hotel, Higgins Construction, LPL Construction, Omniserv, Tate And Lyle Sugars, University of East London and many more.
