The sold out Meet the Buyer event, delivered by UMi on behalf of London City Airport, facilitated over 500 appointments between buyers and suppliers, creating valuable connections and boosting local businesses.

The Expo Sunderland Challenge kicked off its much-anticipated launch event on September 11, 2024, at City Hall in Sunderland. For businesses in Sunderland, particularly SMEs, the challenge offers an unprecedented opportunity to step up and make a real impact. 

Wellsprings Together received a grant of £2,000 from UMi Community Fund to support its core costs. This grant was vital in helping the organisation coordinate the emergency food response in Bradford, ensuring that over 2,000 people living in poverty were able to access nutritious food during a time of increasing need.

As part of Durham Business Group’s ‘Executive Group’ UMi joined the Royal Navy and the Ministry of Defences’ North of England Employer Engagement Team at HMS Calliope on the 8th August for an official signing ceremony and celebration of their commitment to The Armed Forces Covenant 

The Innovation SuperNetwork (ISN) team was thrilled to participate in Northumbrian Water Group’s (NWG) Innovation Festival, helping bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to some of the most pressing challenges faced by the water industry and beyond.  

Children in Poverty Inverclyde received a £3,000 grant from UMi Community Fund to fund their Sunshine Holiday project, which provided 120 local children with a much-needed escape to scenic holiday parks.

Emerging innovators from across North East England will be demonstrating their ingenuity and talents to the engineering and manufacturing sector at EMCON next month.

With over 700 attendees, TVBS continues to be the go-to event for those looking to do more business in the Tees Valley region. Delivered by UMi, the event helped hundreds of local businesses capitalise on the growing opportunities in the region.
