Leigh Alder shares her apprenticeship journey with UMi

To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week 2024 (February 5 to 11), we are sharing the stories of some of the team who started their journeys as apprentices. After completing her first apprenticeship at another company –and seeing the benefits of combining external learning with on-the-job training - Leigh Alder moved to UMi to complete her Level 3 NVQ in Business Administration in April 2015. She has since risen the company's ranks, completing further qualifications, and is now HR Business Partner. Leigh is also in charge of the apprenticeship programme at UMi.

Kate Buckle shares her apprenticeship journey with UMi

Kate Buckle joined UMi in January 2020 and completed an apprenticeship in digital marketing before becoming a Digital Campaign Executive in November. Here, she reveals how the mix of classroom learning and on-the-job experience gave her the skills and the confidence to develop her career.

Bethany Ward shares her apprenticeship journey with UMi

After realising A-levels weren’t for her, Bethany Ward began an apprenticeship in Business Administration at UMi in March 2019, attracted by the prospect of learning new skills in an office environment while earning a wage. She has since been promoted to HR and Office Assistant and thrives on being part of the UMi family.
