UMi celebrates EO Day and shares its importance

On Friday 26 June 2020, thousands of employee owned (EO) businesses came together to celebrate EO Day. UMi has been a member of the EO association since it became wholly employee owned in 2014.

To celebrate the annual occasion, UMi contributed to the #EOIsTheAnswer campaign and celebrated our very own Employee Ownership by sharing our reasons why EO is the answer.

At UMi we believe through a culture of shared responsibility and togetherness, we can achieve more and go further as a result.

EO has given UMi the ability to find our own path, overcome obstacles and seize opportunities.

Suzanne McCreedy, Chief Commercial Officer at UMi said: “Being employee owned means we can focus on what is right for the long-term sustainability of our business, not just a short-term gain.”

UMi's ambition is to:

  • be the best example of an Employee Owned business in our sector
  • be a business where talented people thrive
  • create long term value for everyone in the UMi team
  • create a better world around us through how we invest in our team, how we work with our suppliers and our attitude towards the environment

“For over 12 years we have specialised in making it easier for individuals in over 350,000 businesses to find more customers, secure the right finance, attract the best talent, and go further as a consequence.” Suzanne continued, “We know businesses are more than just bricks and mortar or numbers on a spreadsheet, they’re living breathing things powered by people. Were here to help guide those people.

“We know our team have the talents to build great business, and that includes our own. EO Day for us was all about celebrating that and championing the positive impact we are making in our own business, in addition to those that we’re helping go further.”
